Today, more than ever, polygraph is used as a tool in treatment. Many treatment providers refuse to offer treatment to certain clients unless the client really wants help. That is, face the polygraph and be completely truthful. The polygraph in treatment environments is used to break-down denials of the client and face that they can lie no longer; the client sincerely has a problem.

It is very common for treatment providers as well as probation department to pass the cost of these exams on to the examinee.

1. Sex Offender Testing

1. Instant Offence

B.E.A.R. FORENSICS Instant Offence Polygraph is to break-down denials about committing the crime of conviction as well as to determine to what else was done to his or her victim of conviction.

It is well known in the treatment community that offenders as well as the victims will UNDER REPORT the extent of the crimes that have been committed. That is the offender may admit to having sexual contact with the victim but no one knows how many times and to what extent the victim has been abused.

2. Sexual History

It is not unusual to find that the activity that the examinee was convicted of has happened before and oftentimes has occurred many times before. This test is used as a therapeutic tool to verify that the subject is being truthful regarding his or her sexual history and not withholding other past victims from the therapist or past sexually deviant behaviour from his or her therapist.

The Sexual History Polygraph lasts between 1.5 hours to 4 hours. Time is to be determined by the complexity of each case and all times mentioned are approximations.

3. Maintenance and Monitoring Testing
