ImageA Kinesic Interview Technique uses both verbal and non-verbal behavioural activities to gain information. This Interview Technique is the result of accumulated empirical observations that have led to be able to give a qualified judgement on deceptive and non-deceptive behaviour.

To obtain this diagnostic the interviewer utilizes a set of questions to trigger a specific verbal and non-verbal behaviour from the interviewee.

The verbal and non-verbal behaviour of the interviewee will give the indications to the interviewer of the deception or truthfulness of the person interviewed.

This technique is mainly used when:

  • • Polygraph exams cannot or do not want to be used
    • High number of suspects

Examples are:

  • • During an interview of a suspect, he refuses to take a polygraph exam, or there is no access to a polygraph. This technique can be used to a preliminary judgement of the statement of the person.
  • • In EPPA regulated pre-employment selection procedures. Many companies or even individuals used kinesic interview professionals to interview candidates for high profile jobs but also to take care of their kids (nanny).
  • • When the number of suspects is too high. It is very improbable to submit a high number of people to a polygraph exam for time, legal and cost reasons.
  • • It is also a great tool to trim down the number of suspects in a case.
